Putra Heights Fire: 140 loaned cars distributed to victims

SUBANG JAYA, 8 April- A total of 30 loaned vehicles, including three electric vehicles from automotive company Tan Chong Motor Holding Berhad, were handed over to victims of the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya today.

According to the Selangor Executive Council Member for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, Ng Sze Han, this distribution brings the total number of loaned cars given to the victims to 140 vehicles.

"This distribution is based on applications from victims who filled out the forms provided. So far, we have received over 190 applications, so we still have enough as there are 200 loan cars available," he said.

He added that the remaining 60 loan cars from several other companies are expected to be delivered by the end of this week.

He made these remarks to the media after handing over the car keys to the victims of the gas pipeline fire at the Light Rail Transit Station in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

Meanwhile, the assistance of these vehicles is eagerly awaited by the affected residents as it will facilitate their mobility.

"I am very happy because for the past week, we have been emotionally affected. There has also been a struggle regarding damage to our homes and cars, as both my cars are currently in the workshop.

"So, I feel this will greatly help all of us. For now, until we sort out our accommodation and all the procedures we need to go through," said Sooryamalar.

"I need the car for work and to pick up my child. So having this car for a month will really help with our daily affairs," said S. Vinayagam when met by reporters.
