KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur has implemented Op Pantau 2025 at several hotel premises and slaughterhouses to address issues of use and fraud in the halal debate.

Director of the KPDN of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Mohd Sabri Seman, announced that the integrated operation was carried out together with the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) and the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM).

“This operation focuses on chicken slaughterhouses operating illegally around the capital. The results of intelligence for more than two weeks found that there were parties selling chicken in questionable ways. Based on further investigation, two premises were identified as operating without a license,” he said when met during the operation, on Wednesday.

Through the raid, a total of 3,000 kilograms of chicken with a seizure value of RM28,000 were seized.

In addition, 26 foreigners from India and Bangladesh were also arrested for being involved in various offences and all of them have been handed over to the Immigration Department for further action.
