KUCHING, Nov 10- The Sarawak government is committed to providing affordable housing for the B40 group in the state.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said it was to enable these groups to live close to their workplaces in major cities such as Kuching.
He said it was in line with the government's inclusive policy which wants all parties to live together regardless of financial status.
Tan Sri Abang Johari said this at the Sarawak Housing And Real Estate Developers' Association (SHEDA) Annual Dinner And Excellence Awards, here, last night (Nov 9).
"I wants SHEDA to play a role in promoting the Malaysia My Second Home program, MM2H Sarawak, ' Abang Johari said in his speech.
"With housing rates in this state being much cheaper than in Singapore, I wants SHEDA to increase the confidence of investors and buyers through the quality of the homes provided," the premier added.
