KUCHING, Dec 6- More than 10,000 chickens at a farm were found burned at Jalan Malatang Batu 8, Kuching in a fire early this morning.

According to reports from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre (PGO) reports that the incident involved one block of the chicken farm.

PGO received a emergency call at 3.42 a.m. and dispatched 19 firefighters and two firetrucks from the BBP Petra Jaya, assisted by BBP Batu Lintang.

The blaze was successfully extinguished by 4.42 a.m. and repairs are currently underway.

Separately, in another incident at Sejingkat, four fruit stalls at Pasar Tani, Jalan Demak Laut was destroyed in a fire.

PGO Sarawak stated that they received an emergency call at 2.32 a.m. and eight firefighters and one firetruck were dispatched to the scene.

According to PGO Sarawak, the firefighters acted using a stream of first aid to extinguish the fire.

No casualties were reported.
