Outstanding johor students excel in Cambridge A-Level exams

JOHOR, 29 November - Outstanding students sponsored by the Biasiswa Orang Muda Scholarship (BOMJ) have made the country proud after winning the World's Best Achievement Award in the Cambridge A-Level Examination.

Johor Education and Information Exco Aznan Tamin said the extraordinary success was achieved by former student of the Sultan Abu Bakar College (MSAB) Johor Bahru, Laxmann Muralitharan, who obtained a full 100 percent score in Mathematics.

In addition, he obtained 97 percent in Chemistry, and 93 percent in Physics.

Two other BOMJ scholarship recipients also obtained excellent results in the A-Level examination, namely Muhammad Fauzi Syahmi who obtained grades A*AAA in the subjects of Mathematics, Chemistry, Economics and Physics.

Meanwhile, Lee Choon Ming, obtained grades A*AA in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

"The Johor government hopes that their achievements can inspire the people in Johor to pursue their dreams, thus making Johor proud at the global level," he said.

BOMJ was launched last year by the Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (YPJ), providing special scholarships to the state's best talents.
