KPKT achieves 85% success from 10 strategies, is on the right track

PUTRAJAYA, August 2 - 182 flood reservoir maintenance projects have been approved from January to June 21.

It is among the 12 strategies achieved by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) with 85 percent from the 10 strategies successfully realised.

Its Minister, Nga Kor Ming explained that a total of RM737.9 million from the overall Belanjawan 2024 allocations was spent to achieve the said 12 strategies.

The allocations were spent optimally.

“We have spent RM737.9 million. The 10 initiatives have achieved 85% of the target set in just six months. For example, for PBT areas, we have completed 10,000 units of LED street lamp conversion with an allocation of RM50 million.”

“However, we have succeeded in approving 12,336 units with the same allocations but reaching over 123% of the target with the same (amount of) money, and yet we gain more,” Nga Kor Ming said to reporters in a press conference here today.

Also achieved, includes the construction of nearly 4,000 units of MyKiosk@KPKT which is expected to be expanded through the second series ahead of Malaysia Day.

KPKT is also committed in making public markets a tourist attraction.

Therefore, a total of 89 projects to upgrade dilapidated public markets have been approved for the same period.
