4 years old survivor of PLUS Highway accident successfully undergoes surgery

PERINGGIT, Dec 25- The child of the victim of the five vehicle accident on the North-South Highway last Monday, Nur Sofea Humaira Khairul Ikhwan, four years old, successfully underwent surgery on her thigh this morning.

The Melaka Executive Council member for Health, Human Resources, and Unity, Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem, stated that her brother, Muhammad Uwais Al-Qarni Khairul Ikhwan, seven years old, is expected to undergo surgery this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the lorry trailer driver, Mohamad Syafiq Mohd Zuki, 27 years old, who was also injured in the accident, is still under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

His condition is reported to be stable, and he is also expected to undergo surgery today.

As of now, four accident victims are still being treated at Hospital Melaka.

One of them is a passenger from a Singaporean bus.

At Hospital Alor Gajah and Hospital Pantai, Ayer Keroh, all 10 victims and 4 Singaporean nationals who were treated have been discharged.

Only the body of the Singaporean bus passenger remains unclaimed.
