TASEK GELUGOR, 20 December - In an effort to expand public understanding of fatwa knowledge, the Penang Mufti Department is organizing the Ziarah Kasih Programme for the first time.

The program was held for two days at Masjid Jamek Jarak Atas, Tasek Gelugor, North Seberang Perai.

Penang Mufti, Profesor Madya Datuk Dr. Mohd Sukki Othman, said the programme aims to bring the community closer to understanding religious laws and fatwas.

"This program is the first initiative of the Penang Mufti Department, together with state Islamic religious agencies to visit mosques in rural areas. This aims to facilitate the direct delivery of fatwa rulings to the community," he said to reporters after attending the programme here.

According to him, the programme will be expanded to four other districts throughout Penang, focusing on mosques in rural areas.
