SUNGAI PETANI, Nov 5- A total of 754 bags of blood were successfully collected through its Blood Donation 2024 programme in Kedah.

The campaign received a very encouraging response when a total of 754 bags of blood were successfully collected in just 15 days since the programme was implemented from October 20 to yesterday (Nov 4).
 
The programme themed "A drop of blood, a thousand dreams, a million hopes, a red puddle of rice" was organized by the Kedah Justices of Peace Council in collaboration with the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital (HSAH) in Sungai Petani.
 
Chairman of the Welfare Bureau of the Kedah Justices of Peace Council, Dato' Shahanim Mohd Yusof said the blood donation programme had been held in several locations in Kedah.

"Among them, the HSAH lobby, higher education institutions, military camps and several shopping centers, adding that the programme, which will be held until November 30, aims for 3,000 blood bags for HSAH, " Shahanim said.

"The blood supply will be handed over to hospitals that need blood supply to meet the needs of patients, " Shahanim further explained.

According to Shahanim, donating blood is not only to save the lives of others in need, but donors can also generate new blood for themselves.
