Working visit: Mohamad Alamin to Turkiye, Azerbaijan

PUTRAJAYA, April 10– Deputy Foreign Minister, Datuk Mohamad Alamin is currently on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan from April 10 to 16 to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss regional and international issues.

According to Wisma Putra, Datuk Mohamad is in Antalya, Turkey from April 10 to 13 to attend the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) before continuing his visit to Baku, Azerbaijan from April 14 to 16 to chair the 2nd Malaysia-Azerbaijan Political Consultation Session.

“While at the ADF, Mohamad was invited as a panelist in a discussion session titled ‘ASEAN’s Growing Role at the Regional and Global Levels’ to emphasise Malaysia’s commitment in strengthening trust and cohesion among ASEAN countries,” the statement said today.

As the ASEAN 2025 Chair, Malaysia is also committed to ensuring that ASEAN’s centrality and neutrality continue to be maintained in a dynamic global environment.

Apart from attending the forum, he is also scheduled to hold meetings with counterparts and stakeholders to discuss bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues.

Meanwhile, on April 15 in Baku, Mohamad will chair the Second Political Consultation Session between Malaysia and the Republic of Azerbaijan together with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov.

“The discussion will assess the overall bilateral relations between Malaysia and Azerbaijan with a focus on efforts to strengthen cooperation in the political, economic, consular and people-to-people relations,” he said.

The statement added that both parties will also exchange views on regional and international issues and reaffirm their commitment to continue the strategic cooperation between Malaysia and Azerbaijan in the future.
