KUALA LUMPUR, 1 August - The anti-sexual harassment e-filing system being developed by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is expected to be completed next year.
The Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said the initiative was implemented to enable more victims of sexual harassment, especially in Sabah and Sarawak, to file complaints with the Anti-Sexual Harassment Tribunal (TAGS).
"The ministry is currently in the process of developing an e-tribunal system for anti-sexual harassment where victims can make complaints online and system is expected to be operating next year.
"Actually this tribunal can sit in one or more sessions on any day, at any time and anywhere," she said this during the question and answer session in the Dewan Negara today.
She said this in response to Senator Anna Bell@Suzieana Perian's question who wanted to know how the ministry intends to establish TAGS in Sabah and Sarawak that pose geographic challenges
Noraini added that the government also plans to recruit TAGS members from the two states.
