LABUAN, May 4 – The atmosphere at Labuan International Airport has become more vibrant and lively with the opening of a promotional booth in conjunction with the Borneo Flora Festival (BFF) 2025, which is scheduled to take place from July 26 to 30.
This initiative is intended to introduce the BFF to tourists and visitors arriving in Labuan ahead of the event, giving them an early opportunity to experience the distinct charm of the floral landscapes and gardens that will be showcased throughout the festival.
According to a statement issued by the Labuan Corporation, the placement of the booth at a strategic location such as the airport provides direct exposure to both domestic and international visitors. This enhances Labuan's image as a tourist destination rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage.
“In addition to promoting the upcoming festival, the booth also features local craft products under the LAWA brand. These products highlight traditional crafts inspired by forest and marine resources, including batik, traditional weaving, creative stitching, and bead embroidery.
“This initiative also plays a significant role in strengthening local entrepreneurship while preserving the cultural heritage of the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan,” the statement added.
The BFF@Labuan 2025 promotional booth was officially launched by the Director-General of the Federal Territories Department (JWP), Datuk Noridah Abdul Rahim.
The inaugural BFF is expected to attract flower enthusiasts, horticultural entrepreneurs, and exhibitors from across the country. It is being organized in collaboration with various government bodies, private sector entities, and local community organizations, aligning with efforts to position Labuan as a high-impact tourism destination.
