Sabah floods: Affected residents reduced to 2,627 people

KUALA LUMPUR, March 12- A total of 2,627 people from 906 families have been affected by floods in Sabah, as of 12.00 pm today.

This figure is down from 2,768 affected residents from 947 families, as of this morning.

The National Disaster Control Centre (NDCC) Disaster Portal of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) informed that 17 temporary relief centres (PPS) are still active in three districts of the state.

"This involves the Beaufort district with 1,719 people from 556 families placed in seven PPS. The district recorded the highest number of affected residents.

"The Tenom district was also affected. A total of 466 people from 200 families were placed in six PPS in the district. As for the Membakut district, it involves 442 affected people from 150 families sheltering in four PPS," the statement read.
