NEW DELHI, August 19 - Malaysia and India are expected to sign seven Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation during the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's visit to India.
Malaysian High Commissioner to India, Datuk Muzafar Shah Mustafa, said the MoUs cover various fields including tourism, digital, health, workforce and public administration sectors.
This is the first visit by a Malaysian Prime Minister to India since 2017 and it is a very significant event that will elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights.
“We hope to work with India through this visit to ensure that the strong friendship that has existed since 1957 will continue to be strengthened," Datuk Muzafar told reporters today.
Also present were Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Steven Sim, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Digital Minister Gobind Singh, and Investment, Trade & Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
