KUCHING, December 15 - Police are investigating the discovery of a body in an industrial area, Tabuan Jaya, here last night.

According to Kuching District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, the corpse was discovered by members of the public around 9 pm.

However, he could not confirm the identity of the body until an autopsy is conducted today.

When contacted by RTM last night, he revealed that the police will investigate the cause of the victim's death and do not rule out the possibility of a murder motive.

"The discovery of the body is also linked to the disappearance of a 26-year-old woman who was reported for not returning home for the past nine days," said Mohd Farhan.

He said the police have also opened an investigation paper involving the case of a missing person which may have something to do with the discovery of the decomposing body.

The public is advised not to speculate on the case until the police issue a complete report.
