PM offers condolences on the passing of IKRAM Secretary-General

KUALA LUMPUR, April 28- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences to the family of Ikram Malaysia (IKRAM) Secretary-General Shahrul Aman Mohd Saari who passed away this morning at the National Cancer Institute, Putrajaya.

Through a post on his official Facebook, the Prime Minister prayed that Allah SWT would grant strength and fortitude to all members of the deceased's family in facing this time of loss.

"Praying for his soul to be forgiven and for his family to be given the utmost strength at this time," explained Anwar.

Earlier, the sad news was shared by IKRAM Assistant Secretary-General, Khubaib Azhari in a statement.

Meanwhile, IKRAM, through a post on social media, announced that the funeral prayers for the deceased, who was also the former Acting Chairman of the Clean and Fair Election Coalition (BERSIH), would be held at the Universiti Putra Malaysia Mosque, Serdang after the Zohor prayer before being laid to rest at a nearby cemetery.

Shahrul Aman served as acting chairman of BERSIH from March to October 2018 and was previously secretary to former Education Minister Maszlee Malik.
