KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 25- The government will give full cooperation if the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 bears fruit.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed the assurance in a statement on his official Facebook today.
"After more than a decade of the plane disappearing from the radar, there are still many questions and mysteries yet to be solved.
Apart from families and descendants, the people also have the right to know the answer to this matter," said the statement.
However, the government needs to balance the need to find the plane, at the same time, with the guarantee that the people's funds are used wisely.
Flight MH370, carrying 239 passengers, disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, China, on March 8th, 2014.
Last Friday, Transport Minister Anthony Loke informed the Cabinet ministers had agreed in principle to accept the offer from a marine robotics company, Ocean Infinity to continue the search operation for MH370.
The focus of the search is on a new location estimated to cover an area of 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean.
Its implementation is based on the principle that the government does not need to issue any payment if the aircraft is not found.
