IPOH, Feb 17- A total of 1,404 Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) personnel were subject to disciplinary action throughout the past year, reflecting the enforcement agency's commitment and transparency in combating misconduct among members.
Director of the Bukit Aman Integrity and Compliance Department (JIPS) Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad said that any personnel who commits an offense cannot escape punishment.
"Of the 1,404 personnel who were punished, 164 of them were fired, 32 were demoted, 15 were reduced in salary, 16 were suspended and 122 were deprived of emoluments."
"Apart from that, a total of 256 received fines and 799 received warnings," he said.

The dismissed personnel were not only involved in corruption offences, they also were involved in narcotics offences, commercial crimes, integrity and governance.
The punishment was carried out in accordance with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993.
