Noor Hisam appointed new Perak Police Chief

IPOH, Feb 17- Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin was appointed as the new Perak Police Chief effective today.

The former Pahang Deputy Chief of Police is replacing Datuk Azizi Mat Aris who retired on November 8.

The handover ceremony took place at the Perak Senior Officer's Mess, Ipoh witnessed by the Director of Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) Bukit Aman Police Headquarters, Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad.

There was also a handover ceremony for the Chairman of the State Police Welfare Association (Perkep) between Datin Noormawati Abdul Latip and Zaleta Ibrahim witnessed by Datin Seri Norliah Othman.

The 58-year-old Noor Hisham has held several positions including Deputy Commander of the Federal Reserve Force (FRU), Commander of the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Center (Pulapol), Deputy Chief of Staff for Land Operations and Deputy Chief of Staff for Special Forces in the East Coast of Sabah Special Security Area (Esscom).
