No sign of flood receding in Kelantan soon

Current flood situation in Kelantan

PASIR MAS, Dec 1- There is no sign of the flood situation in Kelantan receding anytime soon.

As of 6 am, a total of 95,786 flood-affected residents in the state are still seeking shelter in 283 temporary relief centres (PPS) that have been opened.

It involves 10 districts throughout the state with Pasir Mas remaining the most affected with over 29,000 people.

This is followed by Tumpat with 16,717 people and Kota Bharu with 14,155 people.

Other districts affected include Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Jeli and Gua Musang.

Meanwhile, most of the water levels of major rivers in Kelantan have shown a decreasing trend.

However, the water levels in several rivers are still above the danger level.

The rivers involved were the Sungai Kelantan in Kusial Baru, Tanah Merah, Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang and Kuala Jambu, Tumpat and Sungai Semerak in Pasir Puteh.
