Pahang floods: 389 families take shelter in 25 PPS

KUANTAN, 1 December - Jerantut is the third district affected by floods in Pahang, after Raub and Lipis.

This resulted in a total of 1,152 residents from 389 families being relocated to 25 temporary relief centres (PPS), as of 4.00 pm today.

According to the Social Welfare Department's (JKM) Info Bencana portal, in the Raub district, the PPS at the Kampung Durian Sebatang hall is accommodating 41 people; Kampung Tok Machang hall (98 people); Masjid Kampung Pintu Padang (166 people), the Gali KEMAS activity centre (113 people); Masjid Kuala Temau (20 people); Kampung Ulu Jelu hall (82 people); Kampung Pia multipurpose hall (123 people); SK Muhammad Jabar (45 people), and, the Kampung Kuala Keloi hall (16 people).

111 people have been evacuated to Lechar hall; Kampung Bukit Pampong hall (26 people); Dato Seriwa Dong hall (44 people); Kampung Pamah Kulat hall (67 people); Kampung Peruas hall (62 people) and Kampung Pamah Rawas hall (32 people).

Six more PPS have been opened in Raub in preparation for the evacuation of more flood-affected residents.

Meanwhile, in the Lipis district, 12 people are being accommodated at SK Jerangsang and 16 people at the Kampung Rengai hall.

Jerantut became the latest district to be affected by the floods when two PPS were opened at Kampung Sempadan hall (33 people) and SK Batu Balai (29 people).
