ALOR SETAR, Dis 1- The Kedah State Health Department reported that three districts, namely Kulim, Kuala Muda and Alor Setar, have reported worrying COVID-19 infections.
This is due to the increase in the number of visitors following the school holiday season in addition to using the state as a route to enter Thailand.
Deputy Director of Kedah State Health Department, Dr Norizan Ismail said that as of December 23, more than 9,000 cases were recorded with 40 deaths.
"The highest case reports are in Kulim, Kuala Muda and Alor Setar districts. These three districts have high population density.
"So it also contributes to the increase in cases in addition to the movement of workers and so on. This allows the infection to spread and record a high number of cases for this district," she told RTM after being a guest on Kedahfm's conty, here.
However, the State Health Department is taking preventive and disease control measures to prevent patients from entering the ward.
The public, especially in Kedah, is also advised to take preventive measures such as wearing face masks.
