Negeri Sembilan also expects salary increasement

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Utama Aminuddin Harun

SEREMBAN, August 13 - The Negeri Sembilan government is also expected to coordinate the salaries of civil servants in the state in line with the increase in civil servants' salaries at the federal level.

This is in line with the federal government's decision regarding the implementation of the new Public Service Compensation System (SSPA) starting next December.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Utama Aminuddin Harun said his side was waiting for details on the increase set by the federal government to be notified on August 16, before studying the actions to be taken regarding the salary adjustment of civil servants in the state.

"We see that whatever the decision is at the federal level, the state government will fully follow and we think this will provide an increase in emolument payments to civil servants which we definitely need to see the budget consultation, among what we see is how we can absorb whatever happens when emoluments to civil servants increase," said Aminuddin.

He said this at the Negeri Sembilan First Class Graduate Award Ceremony, here.

He added that the civil servant salary adjustment was also discussed at the Negeri Sembilan Government Administration Budget Consultation (Series 7) Year 2025, in Putrajaya, recently.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was reported to have said that the new rate of salary increase for civil servants will be announced before the presentation of Budget 2025 which is scheduled in October.

The last time the new rate of civil servant salary increase was announced was around 13 percent in 2013.
