KUANTAN, August 13 - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tan Sri Johari Abdul will be the Chairman of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) for the year 2025.

The handing over of the position of chairman of the body will be done at the AIPA Assembly held in Vientiane, Laos next October.

Johari said, as the host, Malaysia is putting together some big ideas to strengthen cooperation in creating investment in the ASEAN region.

"We want investors to enter ASEAN and we will be the 'get way'... meaning we will be contacted first before they explore other ASEAN states.

"With this we will be more respected... as ASEAN leaders, we will be prioritized before they travel to other states, together urging our people to be much better," he said.

He said this after attending the Active Zone segment (Exclusive Interview) on Pahang Fm in conjunction with the Speaker's Working Visit Program to the Pahang State Assembly here today.

Johari made his series of visits to the East Zone, and the Pahang State Assembly was the ninth state of his series of visits after the Kelantan State Assembly on August 11 and August 12 at the Terengganu State Assembly.
