KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27- The Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) is urging Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's) entrepreneurs to embrace digitalization and automation, such as online marketing, to enhance their businesses.
Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, highlighted that the initiative, launched through TEKUN Nasional in collaboration with TikTok Malaysia, presents a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs to enter the digital space while also reducing payroll costs.
"SME Corp. Malaysia offers matching grant assistance through the Capacity and Capability Improvement Scheme (PKS) and the Bumiputera Enterprise Enhancement Programme (BEEP), which aim to help SME's improve production, save time, and reduce costs through the adoption of digitalization, automation, and technology," he said.
He made these remarks in response to a question from Besut Member of Parliament Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh about initiatives to ease the operating cost burden of SME's following the increase in the minimum wage.
In 2024, a total of 212 entrepreneurs received financing under the SME Technology Transformation Fund (STTF), amounting to RM278 million, to support SME's in adopting digitalization and automation for their business operations using Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) applications.
