KPKT plans various initiatives, committed to achieving excellence

PUTRAJAYA, 16 January- The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is committed to achieving excellence by planning various new initiatives this year including legislative amendments.

Minister of Housing and Local Government Nga Kor Ming said through the implementation of 'Greater HEIGHTS', it will be the essence in facing challenges as well as providing the best service to the people.

"In order to ensure the success of all these initiatives, we need careful planning, efficient implementation, effective communication plan and most importantly, the practice of the values which I have described in the HEIGHTS concept.

"The HEIGHTS acronym comprises Humility, Ethics, Integrity, Gung-ho, Honesty, Teamwork, and Success," he said.

He said this during the KPKT 2025 Mandate Ceremony here, this morning.

In an effort to bring Malaysia to the global stage, KPKT is also making a bid for the position of President of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) for the 2026 to 2029 term.

"At the national level, focus is also given to amending the law related to community service as punishment for offenders who litter, in addition to improving the waste management system and training more highly skilled experts," he said.

Nga stressed that the ministry will continue to empower quality services to the people and elevate the ministry to a higher performance level.
