JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 16- The state of Johor managed to generate revenue of approximately RM2.1 billion throughout 2024, compared to the set target of RM1.9 billion.
Its Chief Minister, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the achievement proved the hard work shown by all parties including government-linked companies (GLCs) in the state.
Based on the encouraging performance, the Johor government has set a collection projection of between RM2.3 billion and RM2.5 billion by the end of this year.
"We have managed to record a state revenue of RM2.1 billion, which is the highest figure we have ever recorded for Johor.
"We are grateful and at the same time we will increase our efforts so that we can further increase the state's revenue so that we can return it to the people," he said.
He said this after attending the Johor Economic Transformation Programme Strategic Workshop with civil servants in Johor Bahru.
The workshop aimed to share Johor's plans and direction to achieve high key performance indicators (KPIs) and mobilize initiatives, especially in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
