SEPANG, April 27– Kampung Labu Lanjut, here has been selected as one of the 373 villages in the MADANI 2025 Adopted Villages Programme.

Selangor Housing and Culture Exco, Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the selection makes Kampung Labu Lanjut a strategic centre to stimulate the modern economy and develop the community-based tourism sector.

According to him, the selection of the village opens up space for the implementation of strategic projects such as organising a night market as a micro-economic catalyst, developing a floating market as a tourism attraction, as well as efforts to conserve water resources through the release of river fish spawn.

"I see this as a very good effort for the state of Selangor. We want to hold village activities that can have a good impact on the local economy.

"Among them, the proposal to make a floating market programme. This already exists abroad, but earlier, I discussed the mechanism since the atmosphere and conditions in our country may be different. Maybe our sales focus will be more on local handicrafts and food, and this matter will be refined by the relevant parties so that its continuity can continue," he said.

He said this after the MADANI Adoption Village Launch Ceremony organised by the Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia, here.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the village's contribution in realising the target of Visit Selangor Year 2025.
