GEORGE TOWN, August 27- Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) Pulau Pinang encourages collaboration from various parties, including the government, private sector and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to make the programmes for independence successful.
Director, Datuk Abdul Said Hussain said, cooperating closely can foster the national identity spirit among the students and teachers.
"I see various private government agencies and NGOs in the nine thrusts.
We'll make sure that this collaboration brings a positive impact in the effort to translate independence to our children.
"Insya-Allah, this collaboration will continue and Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri strongly encourages various parties to come and deal officially with Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri or the District Education Officer (PPD) to establish cooperation to turn various programmes for the fulfillment of independence successful", he said.
He said this after the Launching Ceremony and Inauguration of the Independence Month Celebration of the Penang Malay History and Civilization Association at Al-Mashoor Girls' Religious School (SMA) Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.
In the event , Tokoh Wira Merdeka Negara was given to Tan Sri Dato Yussof Latiff and the Independence Figure was given to Dato Baharul Azhar Omar and Mustaqim Mastan.
After the ceremony, the students also had the opportunity to see the exhibition of historical items presented by the Persatuan Sejarah dan Peradaban Melayu Pulau Pinang (PERADABAN).
