LUBOK ANTU, December 22 – Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in each district have been urged to diversify project applications under the MADANI Community Prosperity Programme (SejaTi MADANI) to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the initiatives implemented.
Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that duplication of projects applications could create competition, causing projects to become less productive and unsustainable.
“It is important to ensure that the projects implemented have a positive impact and benefit the community as a whole,” he said.
He said this after attending the Symbolic Handover Ceremony of the Lubok Antu District SejaTi MADANI Assistance Handover Ceremony at the Lubok Antu Sports Hall, here.
For the record, Sarawak has received an allocation of RM100 million for the year 2024 to implement 1,124 JKKK development programmes throughout the state.
Of this total, 1,024 JKKKs have benefited, including in Lubok Antu, which received an allocation of RM720,000 for various programmes such as animal husbandry and others.
Fadillah also encouraged JKKK to start planning and applying for projects for next year, in line with the goal of empowering community development at the grassroots level.
