Inaugural Selangor Education Summit to be held in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, Nov 19- More than 150,000 visitors are expected to attend the Selangor Education Summit (SES) which is being organised for the first time by the state government from November 27 to December 1 at the Setia Alam Convention Centre, Shah Alam, Selangor.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the organisation of the summit was in line with the state government's desire to strengthen the education agenda and provide skilled human capital.

"Now we are summarizing it into one and in the Selangor pavilion, all assets and facilities or research projects managed by the Selangor state government will be highlighted, whether it is a program as small as BAYU which is a basic fee of RM200 to RM300 up to BITARA which is worth millions of ringgit", he said.

"And also the high valued STDC development programme has the potential to increase the income of participants between 30 to 40 percent after following the training programmes under STDC and others.

Themed 'Where innovation and education combined, exploration leads to transformation', SES proves Selangor's commitment in empowering innovation and education towards better transformational development, in accordance with the principle of seeking knowledge from the cradle to the grave.

He said this after launching SES in Shah Alam yesterday.

SES features four main programs, namely the Selangor International Book Fair (SIBF), Research and Innovation Development Expo (SRIE), Selangor Advance Skills (SAS), and the Selangor STEM Education Carnival.
