DUBAI, Nov 19- The University of Kuala Lumpur will collaborate with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) faculty.
According to Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the collaboration coincides with the institution's reputation as the world's first AI university.
He said,"What has been agreed is that AI university, Mohamed Sheikh Zayed will establish a relationship with UNIKL under MARA, where Dr. Asyraf is its director and we have confirmed that a faculty will be established at UNIKL under MARA. This is a new approach, since we need to study AI from the university that has ventured the earliest AI education system."
Apart from UniKL, three other local universities will establish an AI faculty in their respective institutions, including Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTEM).
He was speaking at a dinner with more than 200 Malaysian diaspora in Dubai, in conjunction with a seven-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid said that there are more than six thousand Malaysians living in the country of whom are greatly admired by the government and people of the UAE.
This is a reflection of the excellence of the country's education system which has successfully produced many professionals and entrepreneurs.
Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid is scheduled to conclude his visit to the UAE today.
