KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 14th - A total of 11.1 million unit holders have invested in the Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) scheme, involving a subscription of 173.8 billion units as of last October.
Meanwhile, a total of 731,872 unit holders have invested in Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) with a total subscription of 29.4 billion units.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying stated that an initial investment of as little as RM10 allows investors to increase their investment at Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) branches or through appointed ASNB agents.
"Investments can also be made through the online platform on the myASNB application and portal. Investors can invest with a maximum amount of 300,000 units for ASB. However, for ASM the maximum amount of investment is subject to the fund size allocation," she said.
She was answering a question from Segamat’s Member of Parliament, Yuneswaran Ramaraj about the number of Malaysians investing in ASB and ASM.
