PAUH PUTRA, Nov 14 - Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Termez State University (TerSU) from Uzbekistan.

This collaboration between UniMAP and TerSU involves a project entitled, 'Visible Light Communication (VLC) With Adaptive Encoder Decoder (ADE) - OCDMA Model' led by Dr. Norizan Mohamed Nawawi from the Faculty of Engineering and Electronic Technology (FKTEN), UniMAP and Professor Dr. Normurodov Chori from TerSU.

UniMAP Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Zaliman Sauli said that Visible Light Communication (VLC) uses light for wireless data transfer and faces challenges in managing many users at once, especially in environments with many light sources.

"Advanced techniques such as Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) allow multiple users to connect to a single light source more efficiently, increasing data rates and reducing errors compared to old methods.

"The objective of this project is to form a new Encoder Decoder for the Visible Light Communication network and analyze this system for increasing the data rate to gigabits per second (Gbps)," Dr. Zaliman added.

Dr Zaliman represented UniMAP, while TerSU was signed by its Rector, Professor Tashkulov Abdukodir Khamidovich.

The historic signing was witnessed by Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail who is also UniMAP's Tuanku Chancellor at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Chancellery Building, in UniMAP Pauh Putra Campus.
