LABUAN, January 24– A man was injured with cuts and burns on his hand in a fire that destroyed a house in Taman Rancha-Rancha Phase 1 here, early this morning.

The fire also destroyed two luxury vehicles belonging to the occupants.

Labuan Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Director Abd Rahman Ali said that the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 5.16 am.

“A total of 25 personnel and officers along with five machinery were deployed to the scene. Our team arrived at the location within six minutes and found that the 40 x 50 feet temporary house was 90 percent burnt,” he said in a statement.

The extinguishing operation was successfully controlled in less than 10 minutes and ended at around 7.00 am.

The injured victim was given further treatment, while the three other occupants did not suffer any injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the authorities.
