KLANG, 16 February- A total of 99 pupils and students participated in the free haircut programme organised by Pertubuhan 99 Kebajikan Insan Selangor in collaboration with Surau Ubaidiah Taman Klang Jaya here, in conjunction with the new schooling session which starts tomorrow.
Chairman of Surau Ubaidiah Taman Klang Jaya Saifudin Ahmad said the programme benefits less fortunate parents by helping to lessen their financial burden, especially the B40 group.
"This is an effort to help and ease the burden of the B40 group who need to prepare for their children's schooling," he said when met by reporters at the programme yesterday.
A beneficiary, Rusdi Sara welcomed the initiative because she was able to reduce her family's expenses ahead of the school session.
"If you have three children, the cost of a haircut alone will reach more than RM50. This programme helps us a lot," he said.
Another mother, Nurul Huda Mohd Sani also expressed her gratitude for those organising the programme.
"Alhamdulillah, this programme helps B40 families by reducing the cost of our school preparation. With three children, we can save a lot," she said.
