BESERI, Jan 12- After a year of leading the Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JPKKP), the role and responsibilities entrusted continue to be a priority.

Through JPKKP, more than 650 families were supported throughout 2024 through the Ziarah Kasih program involving 122 JPKKP areas in Padang Besar.

For the Padang Besar UMNO Division Chief, Ruzaini Rais, with the strong support of community-level leaders, efforts to track those in need of assistance are easier via house-to-house visits.

The focus is given through Ziarah Kasih on homeless patients, senior citizens, those who have family members involved in accidents, natural disasters, especially storms and floods, as well as the education of underprivileged children as well as issues related to infrastructure facilities.

"The JPKKP meets every two months to see or monitor the development of each house in the branch or JPKKP area.

"So all information will be collected in the meeting, as well as the list of names of those in need of assistance.

"Because of that, our management will continue to monitor based on the data and guidelines that have been taken by the JPKKP," he said.

He announced this while visiting two families of residents facing health problems around Kampung Batu Hampar, Beseri.

The Ziarah Kasih program is carried out periodically and is an important platform to strengthen good relationships with each other as well as obtaining the latest information on the situation of those who need assistance, be it short-term or periodic assistance.

To ensure that the welfare of those who receive assistance continues to be protected, the committee will collaborate with the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) and the Social Welfare Department as some of those visited need continuous assistance to carry out their daily lives.
