LABUAN, Dec 18- More than 20,000 user accounts of the Labuan Water Supply Division (BBA) will experience water supply disruptions today.
This disruption involves almost the entire area of Labuan except the District Metered Area (DMA) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Sekolah Menengah Sains Labuan, Kampung Sungai Miri/Sungai Pagar, Kampung Sungai Lada, and nearby areas.
According to BBA Labuan, the disruption was caused by the scheduled shutdown of phase one and phase two water treatment supply at the Lawa Gadong Water Treatment Plant in Beaufort, Sabah.
"Apart from that, the works of replacing the second phase pump pipe in Enoe Island are also being carried out in order to replace the old pipe with a new pipe.
"BBA Labuan has placed 64 static tank units in the areas involved to help affected users.
"The water supply is expected to be fully restored within 24 hours after the repair works are completed," the statement said.
