Also implemented is the granting of autonomy to schools and teachers in the implementation of UASA, apart from providing an Item Realisation Module to help teachers develop assessment items and instruments.

"Fourth, provide an assessment format as a guide to schools in developing assessment instruments. Five, provide a management and administration guide as well as common questions.

"Six, implement quality assurance by visiting and giving aids to schools and teachers," he said.

He said this when answering a question from Senator Datuk Kesavadas A. Achyuthan Nair regarding efforts to empower the Classroom Assessment (PBD) as a tool for measuring the academic ability of students to enter Form One and the selection of study streams in Form Four.

With respect to the Classroom Assessment, he informed that the ministry has prepared a specific mechanism to monitor the effectiveness of its implementation.
