KUALA LUMPUR, March 3- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has ordered the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) to speed up efforts to restore the supply of local white rice (BPT) in the market.
The Prime Minister's Senior Press Secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah said the restoration of the supply is being implemented in phases.
"The Prime Minister also instructed KPKM to periodically inform the people about the progress regarding the restoration of BPT supply," he said.
Tunku Nashrul said this through the Prime Minister's Office Daily Briefing, which was broadcast live on Anwar Ibrahim's Facebook page and the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office (PMO Malaysia) page today.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said the Parliamentary Services Bill 2025 is expected to be tabled tomorrow.
The bill will reflect the maturity to the country's democratic system by opening up space for Parliament to carry out its functions, roles and responsibilities more freely.
"The Prime Minister is confident that this bill will elevate Parliament as a symbol of freedom of expression and will advance the democratic process under the administration of the MADANI Government.
"Therefore, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that this bill would get the support of every Member of Parliament," said Tunku Nashrul.
