KUALA LUMPUR, 22 November - How time flies! It has been two years since the MADANI Government came into power, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Throughout the 24 months of administration, various reforms have been implemented.
Policies that were delayed during the administration of previous governments have now been successfully put into practice -- for the benefit of the people.
The country recorded encouraging economic achievements, including, Gross Domestic Product growth of 5.3 percent in the third quarter of 2024.
As well as, a low inflation rate of 1.9 percent.
However, among the most awaited reforms -- is the adjustment of civil servant salaries, which has not been revised for the past 12 years.
Starting next month, civil servants will enjoy a salary increase as a result of the adjustment.
Meanwhile, the private sector will benefit from the implementation of the progressive salary policy that was also announced.
This is one of the Prime Minister's bold steps to implement changes in the government, when the country's economy is struggling to recover and strengthen.
Yes.. it involves quite a large expenditure... billions in total.
Within these two years, the Prime Minister has managed to steer the unity government well despite having a Cabinet made up of various parties that originally had different ideologies.
The political situation in November 2022 has proven that the transition of power occurred peacefully despite complex circumstances. The Prime Minister's priority at that time was to put the interests of the country ahead of the rest.
The Malaysian economy needs to recover quickly, so that there is progress being made and the nation will not be left behind.
What's more, next year Kuala Lumpur is given the mandate to lead the ASEAN member countries.
Datuk Seri Anwar himself is not sitting idly in Putrajaya.
On the contrary, according to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, the Prime Minister is committed to obtaining foreign investments that are crucial for the growth of the country.
He maintained the national agenda by conducting a working visit to South Korea, for bilateral trade purposes along with holding several exchanges of memorandums of understanding.
He also had just recently conducted an official working visit to Peru and Brazil.
Fahmi also explained that Malaysia's recent collaboration with Brazil to address food security issues is expected to open up space for local companies to be involved in this strategic sector.
It seems that Malaysia will not look back again -- the nation must move forward to face the challenges ahead.
The Madani government is currently committed to improving services, with the hope of a better performance and more achievements in the future --- for the benefit of the Rakyat.
This was shared by the Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He said that in charting a clear direction for the country, the government will always take into account the views of all parties.
At the same time, ensuring that the need and interests of each community are addressed.
During the two years together with the Prime Minister in governing the country, various efforts have been carried out and several achievements unfolded.
To continue the momentum, the 2-Year Madani Government Program (2TM) and the National Convention on Public Service Reform in 2024 are being held.
Taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the program themed 'Madani di hati, Rakyat disantuni' began today and ends on Sunday.
The program provides a space for the public to be directly involved in government reform efforts.
In addition, it serves as a platform to translate the benefits and outcomes of initiatives created by the MADANI Government.
Various activities were held throughout the program, including the MADANI Sales, the Government Carnival Education Exhibition and Technical and Vocational Training.
In addition, service exhibitions from ministries and activities as well as various attractive offers await visitors.
Among them, include the entrepreneur stalls and the Madani Rahmah Sales.
As citizens, we ought to fully support the efforts implemented by the government, for the sake of the country.
We must avoid narrow ideologies and political beliefs that can be obstacles in upholding the unity towards a progressive nation.
Now, the country's main focus is none other than the economic and social stability, so that we can together face tough challenges ahead.
In the words of Henry Ford, "Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success ". Here's to a forward-looking Malaysia ahead!
