The organization of aisse25 is a great success for the country - Saifuddin

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail

PUTRAJAYA, 22 January – The Asia International Security Conference and Expo 2025 (AISSE25) concluded today, attracting over 5,000 visitors from both local and international markets.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail hailed the inaugural event as a major success for Malaysia, noting its potential to position the country as a hub for regional and global security innovation.

"The conference saw participation from 348 companies across 48 countries, a remarkable achievement for a first-time event," said Saifuddin. "This summit not only strengthens Malaysia's leadership role in promoting regional cooperation as ASEAN chair but also highlights our commitment to uniting ASEAN nations in addressing common security challenges."

He also announced that AISSE would return in 2027 with a larger scale and greater impact.

Held over three days at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), AISSE25 showcased cutting-edge security technologies and equipment from leading industry players.

Additionally, Saifuddin revealed that artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be gradually integrated into the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and its agencies starting this year. This move is aimed at enhancing service efficiency, safety, and effectiveness, particularly in addressing security concerns and border control.

As part of this effort, KDN has implemented an AI-powered facial recognition system at key border checkpoints, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminals 1 and 2, as well as the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Johor, starting last month.

"I am confident that embracing AI will enable KDN and its agencies to deliver more efficient services, ultimately addressing issues of integrity and improving our overall system," Saifuddin concluded.
