JOHOR BAHRU, August 15 - The MADANI Rakyat South Zone 2024 programme which took place at Dataran UTM, Skudai, opened today, targeting over 100,000 visitors.

The programme which includes Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka offers various services directly to the people through the participation of 34 ministries and government and state agencies, with 175 direct services available throughout the programme.

Like the MADANI Rakyat programme in the northern zone, east coast and central; the programme in the South Zone also provides services for payment of Royal Malaysian Police traffic summons with a discount of up to 50 percent, exchange of helmets and old Qurans.

In addition, visitors can also enjoy the MADANI Sale that offers discounts on daily necessities with the participation of 136 entrepreneurs involved in various sales segments such as Rahmah Sales, Agro, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurs, Southern Food and Food Trucks.

The programme is not only focused on sales and service but also provides a variety of outdoor activities for all ages.

It includes health services, tree seed distribution, business matching, petting zoo, horse riding, fishing competition, e-sports competition, remote control (RC) car competition and a five kilometer fun run.

Visitors also have the opportunity to win lucky draw prizes at the ministry fair, witness craft demonstrations, cultural performances and exhibitions of government assets from four agencies.

In addition, the MyFuture Jobs Career Carnival also offers 2,125 job vacancies from 21 employers.

The MADANI Rakyat South Zone programme this time focuses on eight main areas, including MADANI Economy, people's well-being, unity agenda, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), agriculture and food security, career carnival, as well as exhibitions and educational services in the field of Science , Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The highlight of this programme is the Closing Ceremony which will be officiated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 17 August.

The MADANI Rakyat 2024 South Zone programme is organized by the Prime Minister's Office through the Performance Leap Coordination Unit (PACU), with the strategic cooperation of the Ministry of Economy and the Johor government.

It is a continuation of the MADANI Government One Year Program which was held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in December 2023.

This programme provides an opportunity for the local community to understand the government's policies and initiatives in empowering the people, entrepreneurs, and industry since its implementation one year ago.

With the various activities, services, and opportunities offered, this programme is expected to continue to be the main attraction for the people in the South Zone and its surroundings, thereby strengthening the government's commitment in implementing the MADANI agenda. - BERNAMA
