KUALA LUMPUR, December 10 - An allocation of RM30 million has been designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) for the year 2025.
This allocation is intended for the maintenance of agricultural irrigation and drainage infrastructure.
It is aimed at states affected by flooding and will cover repair work such as agricultural irrigation and drainage infrastructure, as well as agricultural pump houses.
The Deputy Minister, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, stated that the implementation will involve four guidelines, including that only affected individuals are eligible to apply, with priority given to severely impacted areas, and the requirement to submit damage reports and repair proposals.
"Therefore, anyone can apply as long as they can demonstrate that they have been affected by the flood disaster and are involved in the agriculture or agri-food sector, and we will prioritize the areas most severely impacted by flooding," he said in response to a question from Tampin MP, Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa at the Dewan Rakyat.
