KLANG, August 29 - Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah graced the lighting ceremony of Jambatan Kota in Klang, Selangor last night.
At the event, Tengku Amir also graciously interacted with visitors and traders present on the bridge.
The launching was in conjunction with Selangor Gagasan Rumpun Programme for the Klang district which is a three-day event ending tomorrow.
The six-decade old Jambatan Kota spanning the Klang River in Selangor has been brought back to life following a RM700,000 renovation.
The upgrade of the 250-metre bridge included the installation of new road paving, the repainting of the steel trusses to its original white colour, and new wiring and lighting.
As an integral part of Klang's heritage, the bridge is now open to motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians, following restoration efforts by the Royal Klang City Council (MBDK).
