BUKIT MERTAJAM, Jan 11- The country's peace and stability have clearly proven to be among the attractions for foreign investment in Malaysia.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the country is on the right track and this was reflected in the visits from foreign leaders to enhance bilateral relations.
"In the past two to three weeks, the Prime Minister of Thailand has come to meet, followed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Vietnam, the Prime Minister of Singapore, the President of Indonesia, and yesterday the Prime Minister of Japan," he said.
"All of them expressed their desire to increase trade and investment cooperation with Malaysia. Alhamdulillah, do you know why? Because Malaysia is a peaceful country and consists of a multi-racial society," he added.
"This year, I want to focus on the people's agenda. My focus is to attract more investment, so that people have confidence in us," Anwar said in his speech at the Muhibbah Madani programme organised by the Muhibbah Madani Foundation here today.
"What is important is to ensure that our children's schools are better, from their toilets, computers, teachers, to their health facilities. That is what we want," he said.
