SUNGAI BESI, Nov 1 - The government handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to investigate a case of bullying and abuse that occurred at a public university.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised that the culture of bullying needs to be stopped because of the abuse being subjected to the victim.

"It's a police matter.. I can only advise the public. Don't let it happen in schools, high schools, maahab tahfiz schools, and so forth.

"This must be stopped; headmasters, principals, nursery owners, and college principals are also responsible in following through with the measures to stop the bullying culture.

"This is because there are too many complaints which happened to be revealed in the media. But this (bullying) must stop," he told reporters after the Temu Anwar Programme at the The National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM) here.

He was answering questions from reporters on the development and outcome of the discussion with the UPNM Vice Chancellor amid allegations of bullying at the educational institution.

Previously, the media reported that the victim was allegedly being bullied by a senior student and was believed to suffer injuries after being pressed by an iron.
