LABUAN, February 9– Over 3,000 participants took part in the Federal Territories Day Run and Labuan Half Marathon, held at the Labuan level as part of the Federal Territories Day (SHWP) 2025 celebrations.

The inaugural event successfully met its target participation numbers.

Runners competed in distances of 21 kilometers (km), 10 km, and 5 km, with categories for the Half Marathon, BMW Regas Premium, and Federal Territories Day Run.

Director-General of the Federal Territories Department, Datuk Indera Noridah Abdul Rahim, shared that the event was part of the 2025 SHWP calendar of activities.

“This is a tangible effort by the Federal Territories Department and Labuan Corporation to rejuvenate activities in Labuan.

“Despite the morning rain, it didn’t stop the participants from completing the race, and by God’s grace, this is a great start," she said.

“We plan to continue hosting such events in the coming years,” speaking to reporters after the prize-giving ceremony at the Labuan International Marine Sports Complex.
