SHAH ALAM, Feb 9- Malaysia's trade value is expected to remain above RM2 trillion throughout 2025, despite facing issues such as the economic slowdown in China and the new administration in the United States.
The Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, expressed optimism about this, based on the expectation that the country's economy will continue to grow.
"We aim to maintain the level achieved last year, which was above RM2 trillion. We still anticipate positive developments in the economy and are optimistic about achieving this," he said.
He spoke at the Golf Amal KITA 2025 event at Glenmarie Golf and Country Club.
The event, officiated by the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Last year, Malaysia's trade value increased by 9.2 percent to a record high of RM2.879 trillion, surpassing the RM2 trillion mark for four consecutive years.
