Lim and Zaidil's story: proof harmony of various races in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 July- The viral story of a new student who is continuing studies at a higher education institution (IPT), has touched the hearts of netizens.

Known as Lim ZY, he faced various challenges to register at the Balik Pulau Polytechnic (PBU), without accompanied by family members due to financial problem.

However, Zaidil Adha, who is also the polytechnic student affairs officer, was praised by social media netizen for making easy the student's matter.

Zaidil who shared his story a his Facebook post, received various positive reactions from online netizens beside it is a prove of racial unity in Malaysia.

The heartbreaking story began when Lim arrived a day earlier (July 27) than the registration date on (July 28), due to the lack of bus tickets.

Zaidil admitted that he was amazed to see Lim bravely set foot from Batu Pahat to Penang alone, for the first time.

"I was very impressed because not only Lim had never been to Penang, he had also never taken an express bus. I asked for his phone number, identity card number and full name," Zaidil said.

Lim arrived at the polytechnic library, fully dressed in a white shirt, black trousers and a tie as the dress code during registration day.

Zaidil however asked Lim to change clothes, before taking him to the nearest store to buy personal accessories.

"Zaidil who was waiting, suddenly surprised when Lim came out of the library's toilet with a red face, watery eyes and shaking hands."

"Lim replied, the luggage he was carrying was not his. It was changed when he got off the bus this morning. I took a deep breath, thinking of the works that needs to be done this morning."

"However, I was not able to leave him in trouble. I said, "Let me take you to Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal and bring the wrong bag with you," said Zaidil again.
He said that after getting Lim's luggage , Zaidil took him to lunch and bought his personal items.

"Throughout the journey, Lim seemed very excited to see the scenery, not to mention the opportunity to cross the Penang bridge. Lim also took a few pictures to send to both his parents."

"Every time he buys something, Lim will calculate on his mobile phone calculator to make sure he doesn't exceed his budget. At the payment counter, I paid for all the things he bought. Lim bowed like a Japanese saying thank you," explained Zaidil.

As soon as the purchase was completed, Lim was then greeted by senior Chinese students, to help Lim in the hostel.
